difference in our community for over a
decade.
Since 1990,
over 15,000 animals have been adopted
through AFA.
Animals
receive veterinary care on site in our
state-of-the-art medical facility.
Approximately 6,000 spay/neuter surgeries
are done yearly.
With the help
of a large volunteer base, our small staff
maintains hundreds of cats and dogs in the
shelter or in our foster care program.

Make A Difference! Help us control pet
overpopulation through early spay/neuter, education,
and adoption. Premier state-of-the–art facility in
Northeastern Ohio, Angels for Animals has been
making a difference in our community for over a
decade. Angels is a great place to practice shelter
medicine and work with animals that need your help.
We are seeking registered technicians to work in a
high-volume and fast-paced team environment. Our
staff performs nearly 6,000 low-cost spays and
neuters annually and maintains a shelter population
of 150-250 animals.
Job Description:
Working under the direction of the medical manager
and general manager, you will practice all aspects
of a registered technician’s duties, with primary
focus on assisting with surgeries, lab work,
examinations, administering vaccines, record keeping
and euthanasia. Suitable candidates must be
computer literate, detail oriented, able to take
direction and be
adaptable
as required.
Hours:
40 hours of work per week scheduled with additional
on-call weekends and some special events
Requirements:
- Must be dependable.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have your own reliable vehicle.
- Must be self-motivated and capable of taking
direction.
- Must be detailed oriented, good natured and able to adapt as needed.
- Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs on an
occasional basis.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with animal intake and testing.
-
Direct animal care.
- Surgical preparation.
- Lab work. - Administer vaccines and
medications under a veterinarians supervision. - Assist with spay/neuter
surgeries. - Patient care and
monitoring. - Medical record keeping
and data entry. -
Supervise volunteers. -
Client education.
