cat programs: stray programs

Angels for Animals has programs available for the wonderful people who decide to give homes to stray animals.  If you are one of the angels out there - please remember that love is not enough.  Pets need annual veterinary care.  To get your pet off to a good start, Angels for Animals offers these programs:

Spay-neuter only package: (TSR)
This is the basics and includes everything listed below for $70.00.

• Test for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
• Spay or Neuter
• (1) Rabies vaccination
• Surgical record

Stray-thru package: (ST)
This is equivalent to the full health care package of our adoptable animals and includes everything listed below for $100.00.

• Test for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
• Spay or Neuter
• (1) FVRCP/C Vaccinations
  Vaccines are recommended for the vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in the prevention of important feline diseases, this vaccine provides protection against feline Rhinotracheitis, Feline Panleukopenia, Feline Calicivirus, Feline Pneumonitis and Chlamydia Psittaci
• (1) Feline Leukemia vaccinations
• (1) Rabies vaccination
• Routine de-worming
• Topical flea protection
• Surgical record

Farm cat program: (FARM)
This program is equivalent to our TSR program but at a reduced cost for people who have a farm or live on a large amount of acreage in the country.  This is the basics and includes everything listed below for $35.00

• Test for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
• Spay or Neuter
• (1) Rabies vaccination
• Surgical record

Show Us the Mommy: (SUM)
Spay kittens for ONLY $20.00 each.  (New pricing effective May 1st, 2008)
Getting kittens fixed is the first step to controlling pet overpopulation so we offer this to everyone that finds themselves unexpectedly becoming a parents to a new litter of kittens.  This program is subject to the restrictions below.  Mom $70.00 or $100.00

• Only mom cats and their kittens can participate.
• Kittens must be 2 to 4 pounds (typically 2 to 4 months old)
• Mom cat goes through our $70.00 (TSR) or $100.00 (ST) package above)
• Each kitten is $20.00 each for a spay or neuter. (New pricing effective May 1st, 2008)

Other programs:
Unfortunately, not all stray cats will find inside homes.  For a variety of reasons, some strays will continue to be outside.  They need health care, too.  Testing for feline leukemia and FIV is important for outside cats, so the spread of these fatal illnesses can be prevented.  The overpopulation crisis will never end as long as outside cats continue to reproduce.  Angels for Animals also has programs to assist people who are willing to help these outside strays “Friendly” traps are available if needed.  There is a returnable fifty-dollar deposit required to borrow a trap.  Because the traps are in big demand - please call to check availability before coming to pick one up at our shelter.
