What is it ?
BAN THE BIG BELLIES is ANGELS
for ANIMALS participating event in the Humane Society of the
United States (HSUS) annual SPAY DAY program.
This year our participation is a 25 day event where we supplement the cost of
1000 cats and 375 dog
spays/neuters for pet owners with proof of financial need.
Owners will only have to pay a nominal fee ($10 for cats,
$25 for dogs, cash or credit only) that covers a
small part of the surgical costs. Other medical
services will be available at regular pricing.
Surgeries are
strictly limited to funding received.
Vouchers for surgery go on
sale January 4th and will be sold on a first-come first-served
basis until funding is depleted.

Did you know ?

Facts and figures about pet overpopulation.
-
More than 4
million homeless pets - about half the number of animals
entering shelters each year - are euthanized.
-
Shelters can't save and support the huge number of
accidental litters, strays and family pets brought to
their doors every day.
-
Your pet's
puppies and kittens could be euthanized in a shelter,
due to limited facilities to house them.
-
You can
reduce these numbers by spaying or neutering your
pets.
-
Spaying
(for females) and neutering (for males) are surgeries
done by a veterinarian to stop their reproduction.
-
In the time
it took you to read this, 4 pets were euthanized.
